Almost a month ago, ‘the bomb exploded’ against rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, pointed out by various crimes of a sexual natureincluding abuse, human trafficking and organized crime, for which he is currently detained.
Although there is still no conviction against him, Judge Andrew Carter, who is in charge of the case, decided that while awaiting a trial date, he will continue to be held in the Metropolitan Detention Center, BrooklynNew York, United States.

Genaro García Luna
The former Secretary of Public Security during Felipe Calderón’s six-year term, Genaro García Luna, is one of the rommies by Sean ‘Diddy’. Ismael ‘Mayo’ Zambada
One of the Mexican drug traffickers most wanted in recent years, Ismael ‘Mayo Zambada’, is also in prison, awaiting a sentencing trial against him that will be one day after García Luna’s, on October 17.
Zambada was arrested on June 25 after a plane he was traveling on landed in El Paso, Texas. He was then accompanied by Joaquín Guzmán López, son of Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán.
‘Mayo’ pleaded not guilty in September to the charges brought against him by the United States government, including drug trafficking, criminal association, illegal possession of firearms and the murder of at least four drug traffickers. In total, there are seven.

Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, ‘El Nini’
Another man related to drug trafficking who is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center is Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas ‘El Nini’, arrested in November 2023 in Mexico and extradited to the United States, where he faces various charges.
Among them, they accuse him of obstruction of justice for the murder of a DEA informant, kidnapping and death of eight people. He also faces charges of importing cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetaminein addition to firearms crimes and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
It is said that it was the armed wing of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada, with whom he apparently now shares a detention center.

Sam Bankman-Fried
One of Combs’ closest ‘tenants’ in the prison in New York is businessman Sam Bankman-Fried, convicted in November 2023 on charges such as fraud and money laundering. In total, they are seven crimes for which he was accused.
Last March it was sentenced to 25 years in prison for these crimes, accused of one of the largest financial frauds in history. Additionally, they ordered him to return more than $11 million in assets.

“For privacy and security reasons, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) does not provide information about the conditions of confinement, including housing assignments or internal security practices, for any particular incarcerated individual,” a BOP spokeswoman said, according to Telemundo.

New York MDC: What is the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn where Sean ‘Diddy Combs is imprisoned like?
He Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC Brooklyn) is a high-security federal facility located in the Sunset Park district of Brooklyn, New York.
Operated by the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), this facility houses pretrial men and women awaiting trial, as well as convicted prisoners serving shorter sentences or that are in transit to other facilities.
Opened in 1990, it is known for being a temporary detention center for some of the most notorious and high-profile inmates, including individuals accused of serious crimes such as terrorism, organized crime, and financial crimes.

The center is predominantly closed and currently houses 1,218 inmatesaccording to information from the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Controversies at the Metropolitan Detention Center
Over the years, MDC Brooklyn has been the subject of controversy due to conditions within the facility, including complaints about the treatment of inmates, lack of access to adequate medical care, and unsanitary conditions.
One of the most well-known incidents occurred in 2019, when a blackout in the middle of winter left inmates without heat and electricity for several days, sparking a public outcry over living conditions at the facility.

Some of its inmates and former inmates have addressed the issue of this site, popularly known as ‘hell on earth’ thanks to the conditions described above.
“I have witnessed homicides, stabbings and constant threats to my integrity,” García Luna said in a letter that his lawyer wrote and made public. Ghislaine Maxwell, partner and accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, denounced “inhumane, cruel and degrading” conditions at the MDC.
