COMEDY. Efira in cougar mode
“20 years apart” at 9:10 p.m., on TF 1. “Do you think we will soon be offering me a biopic on Jeannie Longo? This is what Virginie Efira confided to us that she had asked her agent when she received the script for this comedy which portrayed her as an experienced cougar. For “20 years apart”, signed and scripted by David Moreau (“Alone”), the former Franco-Belgian host of “Nouvelle Star”, who was then in the process of exploding on the big screen, was surprised that he was given the role of Alice Lantins, who was approaching her forties, at the age of 35. A fashion editor stuck and without a private life, she is on her way to becoming the boss of her magazine. To romanticize her image in the eyes of others, she invents an idyll with Balthazar Apfel, a cute youngster of barely 20 years old.
Rather than being offended, Virginie Efira did well to accept, and for two reasons. The first is that the rising sex appeal romantic comedy, a genre in which she made her big screen debut, will always fit her like a glove. Then because the film runs on its solar energy, which is fueled in counterpoint by the grace of a Pierre Niney.
Also on the rise at the time, the actor is ideal for portraying this character a thousand miles from the ruthless universe he discovers. Because the feature film does not hesitate to mock the supercharged environment of a fauna that does not make flowers. Some have seen it as clichés, while the fashion world only feeds on that! So, on a soundtrack that sends out France Gall and Dean Martin hits, let’s not deprive ourselves of this all-out “feel-good” petulance that will remind us of the good old days.

COMEDY. An explosive team
Pierre Salvadori stages Corsica, his native island, in a committed and crazy comedy. Les Films Pelléas/Roger Arpajou
“La Petite Bande” at 9:10 p.m., on Canal +. Make a good comedy, haute couture? “Lace, even”, prefers Pierre Salvadori. From “Apprentices” to “Freedom! » to « Hors de prix », the director is a follower of comedy, yes, but with an elegant ascendancy. His subtle “mixing of emotions” often sparks off the beaten track.
With “La Petite Bande”, here is a (literally) explosive family comedy made on the Isle of Beauty, where the filmmaker is from. Particular sign, the heroes are 12 years old and have a crazy dream: to blow up the nearby factory, accused of polluting the river. This earthy Club of five with Corsican sauce will embark on this disproportionate enterprise, driven by ecological considerations and above all other less avowed motivations. When they kidnap the factory manager, the adventure takes a more radical turn…
What is a collective? Why do we engage? How to get there? In an impulsive tone, “La Petite Bande” brings up major issues. And if it pushes the cursors of comedy relatively far, the film never falls into the ridiculous, thanks to amazing young actors, a sharp sense of dialogue and a rhythmic staging.

TELEFILM. Promising trio
“Les Héritiers” at 9:10 p.m., on France 2. Might as well warn: thriller lovers will not find their account there. Here, no murder! But a disappearance, perhaps voluntary, its consequences, and an immersion in the universe of communication. When Diane Granger, boss of a large crisis management firm, disappears during a stay in Brittany, it’s the commotion for her three young associates. It is up to them to manage the powerful clients alone. And now a whistleblower, a former employee of a pharmaceutical laboratory, brings them an explosive file on the serious side effects of a drug.
How to get your message across? And face the firm’s counter-attack? The TV movie dives brilliantly into the mysteries of the strategies and tricks deployed by the aces of crisis communication. Rather well-felt flashbacks allow us to unfold the paths of each of the three “heirs”: Claire, a converted ex-journalist, Mehdi, a cheeky child from the housing estates, and Stan, son of the bourgeoisie crushed by the paternal model. These endearing heroes make you forget a few lengths thanks to the convincing acting of their interpreters.

DOCUMENTARY. The pleasures of the Seine
From the stream to the sea, the Seine reveals its history and reveals unexpected secrets. Chopin/Step by Step Productions
“At the end it’s the sea: The Seine”, at 9 p.m., on France 5. Have you ever wanted to go back to the source of the most famous of the rivers of France, the Seine, and to follow its course until in the Channel? This is the walk offered by François Pécheux, in a new issue of “Au bout, c’est la mer”.
It starts in the Côte d’Or in the aptly named village of Source-Seine, in a garden through which flows what is still only a modest stream. It continues, through encounters, aboard an astonishing flying boat, in a distillery, on a huge container ship, in an underground factory, on an old tugboat or in an old watermill…
Moments spent with the river brigade of the gendarmerie will even be the scene, completely unexpected, of a macabre discovery. A walk full of surprises, which is a real pleasure to follow, all the way to the sea.

ENTERTAINMENT. Ultimate trickery
“Les Traitors” at 9:10 p.m. on M 6. One last evening to hold our breath. Will chef Norbert Tarayre and YouTuber Juju Fitcats succeed in their bet and win the second season of “Traitors”? This Machiavellian adaptation by M 6 of the game “Les Loups Garous” kept us spellbound all summer. Rarely have we seen such formidable mechanics.
Three traitors are hiding among 18 personalities summoned by the Six in the majestic Château de Val in Lanobre (Cantal). The loyal must unmask them all at the risk of causing their association to lose the sum at stake. It is enough for one of the three renegades to slip onto the final podium to win. So far the “traitors” have been masterful, fooling the world, bursting into tears at the strategic moment. Sobbing is innocent, of course. The genius of this game is that: not being able to trust anyone. Behind your best friend may be hiding your worst enemy. Being on the alert for 10 days, contemplating the worst betrayals, is quite a mental ordeal.
So far the Loyals have made misjudgment upon misjudgment. Junk Columbos. Like the philosopher Vincent Cespedes who took control of the group and keeps convincing them to make bad decisions. For all of his work, he deserves to lose. Except his obsession with evidence of treachery proves his loyalty.
Last week, the elimination of the traitorous Charlotte de Turckheim gave hope to the survivors. First, because they are on the right track. And Charlotte de Turckheim revealed that she had been betrayed by her family. There always comes a time when even the strongest alliances break. The ending keeps its promises. Two hours of psychological arm wrestling, to watch in apnea. “The Traitors” is “Koh-Lanta” in worse.
