Nokia G22: a smartphone designed to be repaired at home

Nokia has announced the Nokia G22, a smartphone that can easily replace and repair its components in five minutes. Indeed, Nokia phone maker HMD Global Nokia has partnered with the iFixit platform to provide key parts and a repair guide. This model comes with a removable recyclable plastic back to allow owners to swap out broken parts. Thus, phone owners can purchase official spare parts and repair kits. They are made with recycled and refurbished materials, from repair company iFixit.

It’s a standard smartphone with a 6.52-inch HD screen (LCD) at a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is 4G compatible and comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. HMD has provided a microSD card slot that will add up to 2 TB of additional storage. It has a 5050 mAh battery compatible with fast charging, compatible with 20 W charging. In photos, its main camera is 50 MP, accompanied by an 8 MP front camera. The G22 costs €180 for the 4/64 GB version and €190 for its 4/128 GB model. The prices for spare parts will be as follows:

  • the battery at 26 €,
  • the screen at 50 €
  • the port of charge 21 €.

Xiaomi launches active noise reduction headphones in France

Xiaomi has announced the release of its latest True Wireless headphones, the Buds 4 Pro, in France. The True Wireless Buds 4 Pro, headphones with active noise reduction, include Sony’s LDAC. This offers data transfer rates of up to 990 kb/s. Note binary and 32-bit depths, as well as support for Hi-Res Audio Wireless. Regarding active noise reduction, Xiaomi communicates on a decrease to a level of 48 dB.

On the autonomy side, the Buds 4 Pro promise up to 9 hours of listening time with a single charge. This can go up to 38 hours with the charging case. Otherwise, the headphones have liquid silicone rubber ear tips. It allows a better adjustment with the new function « Intelligent Fit Monitoring ». The latter allows users to find the perfect fit.

You can adjust the sound settings through the dedicated Xiaomi Earbuds app. This gives access to personalized functions such as:

  • ANC modes,
  • modes of transparency,
  • built-in dimensional audio,
  • and two-device connectivity.

The headphones have been available since March 8, in two colors: Star Gold and Space Black, at a recommended retail price of 249.99 euros.

The Honor Band 7: a new connected bracelet with Oled screen and monitoring of oxygen saturation in the blood

The Chinese manufacturer Honor has announced its new connected bracelet, intended for athletes with 96 training modes. The Honor Band 7 comes with a 1.47 inch OLED screen. Its resolution is 194 x 368 px (282 ppi). It has 5ATM certification. The strap is light with around 18 grams on the scale. The Band 7 thus offers monitoring of the number of steps taken using an accelerometer, monitoring of heart rate and SpO2 throughout the day. In addition, the Honor Band 7 can monitor heart rate, blood oxygenation, stress, female health or even sleep. The bracelet allows you to control music, manage calls, check the weather and view your notifications.

In terms of autonomy, the smart bracelet can work for up to 14 days on a single charge. This in moderate usage scenarios. Indeed, its autonomy only goes up to 10 days if it is requested more intensively. However, this product supports fast charging, which saves two days of battery life in just 5 minutes of charging. The Honor Band 7 is available, in black only, at a price of 59.90 euros.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3i: a 2-in-1 tablet

Lenovo has unveiled the IdeaPad Duet 3i tablet, the latest version that is both a touchpad and a laptop. The tablet comes with a foldable and detachable folio case. This acts as a protective cover and a 2K IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200, of 11.5 inches. It features 100% DCI-P3 color coverage that can reach to a peak brightness of 400 nits. The tablet alone measures 271.3 x 172 x 8.95mm and weighs just 697g.

This is a versatile PC that works with the latest Intel N100 or N200 processors. It comes with Windows 11 Home or Pro. The device has two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm audio port jack. One of the USB Type-C ports supporting Rapid Charge Boost technology, which can recharge the device for up to two hours of use in 15 minutes. With a 35.6 Wh battery, Lenovo promises 8.5 hours of battery life. In terms of cameras, the device has a 5-megapixel front and an 8-megapixel rear. In addition, the tablet is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 technologies. Note: The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3i will go on sale from June, with prices starting at €449.
