Some dollar money changers in the parallel market have recently asked their customers to pay 100,000 Lebanese pounds for each dollar banknote of small denominations, such as $5 or $10.

For example, if a citizen wants to buy 10 dollars from the cashier or a 5-dollar note, he must pay 100 thousand pounds, which is approximately one dollar.

One of the mobile money changers told “Lebanon 24” that this matter was caused by a crisis in dollar banknotes from small denominations, indicating that buying these dollars has become costly for money changers many times.
