After eight years at the head of the third department of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), Andréa Maechler left the institution at the end of June. The first woman to hold such a position, the 54-year-old economist will become deputy director of the Bank for International Settlements next September. The opportunity to take stock of these years marked by the European debt crisis, covid, the return of inflation and, of course, the rescue of Credit Suisse.
