The announced net yield of the State bond issued this week is therefore 2.81%. This means that for 1000 euros invested in these State bonds, you will actually receive 28.10 euros one year later. The minimum amount to invest is 100 euros, there is no ceiling.
To give you some numbers:
For 500 euros invested: 14.05 euros interest following one year
For 10,000 euros invested: 281 euros in interest
For 30,000 euros invested: 843 euros in interest
For 50,000 euros invested: 1405 euros of interest
For 100,000 euros invested: 2810 euros of interest
It is not the most profitable investment, but it is safe and it is more advantageous than the current rates of savings accounts offered in Belgium. By way of comparison, Santander Vision Max, the most attractive savings account on the market today, offers a rate of 2.5%, but only for customers who deposit a minimum of €125,000 and a maximum of €200,000. The “classic” ING savings account offers a rate of 1.50%, once morest 0.90% at Belfius.
