It is not known why the man fled when the Lommel police wanted to check him, the Limburg prosecutor’s office said on Thursday. The man had been removed from the civil status register and no longer had a known address.
After the first head-on collision, he hit a police car twice. These two other vehicles only suffered damage to the bodywork, while the first is in total damage.
In the Netherlands, the septuagenarian once more ran into the police but was finally able to be brought under control. As he had also charged a policeman, he should be prosecuted for attempted murder.
