Sherbrooke police investigators handcuffed three minors on Tuesday in connection with a case of assault on a lifeguard.
On July 3, the young people went to the swimming pool on rue Terrill, where the worker assigned to monitoring informed the group that he was not following the instructions.
After temporarily leaving his post on his return, the employee was expected by the teenagers, who pushed him into the water. The rescuer suffered a back injury in his fall.
Several witnesses were able to provide a good description of the suspects, which allowed the investigation to progress.
The three teenagers, aged 13 and 14, came to the police station accompanied by their parents and are working “very well” with the investigators.
They were released with a promise to appear. The case of assault causing injury was submitted to the prosecutor of the youth division.
