High-level Gabonese delegation expected in Beijing

The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of planning and foresight, Alexandre Barro Chambrier, discussed on Thursday with the Minister-Counselor, in charge of affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Gabon, Zhu Xiale, the provisions and modalities of Gabon’s participation in the 9^th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled for next September in Beijing. The transitional president, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, should lead the Gabonese delegation there in person.

At the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the two parties, Gabonese and Chinese, reviewed all the issues related to the preparation, organization and running of this Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), presented as a unique opportunity for Chinese and African leaders to discuss the future of cooperation between China and the African continent, particularly around exchanges on the Libreville – Beijing axis, whose cooperation dates back more than 50 years.

“We will continue to work very closely with the Gabonese side to ensure the full success of this trip to China.”reassured the Chinese diplomat at the end of this working session, before renewing to his host “China’s commitment to support the transitional authorities in carrying out projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the Gabonese population”.

Alexandre Barro Chambrier, for his part, told his guests of the determination of the transitional government and the president of the CTRI, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, to work tirelessly for the implementation of programs that bring added value to the national economy and the well-being of the populations in the towns and villages of Gabon.
