In August, inflation in Austria rose again to 7.4 percent due to soaring fuel prices. This means that inflation in Austria has been consistently well above the target of two percent for more than a year and a half. This is causing problems for large parts of the population, as an Imas survey shows. Accordingly, a fifth have to tighten their belts significantly, and in view of the persistent wave of inflation, there are increasing fears for the future.
