The probability of having 40 degrees over at least a quarter of West Flanders and Hainaut being 65%, it was decided to place these two provinces in code red, announces the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) Monday night on Twitter. The code is in effect from July 18 at midnight until July 20 at the same time.

Tuesday, the heat will be oppressive with maximums of 34 to 39 degrees and locally 40 degrees in the west / south-west of the country, warns the IRM.
