BEIJING, June 22, WAM – The death toll from an explosion yesterday evening in a restaurant in Yinchuan City, capital of northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has risen to 31, local authorities said Thursday.

The Chinese news agency, Xinhua, reported that the explosion occurred due to the leakage of liquefied petroleum gas from the work area inside the restaurant.

The explosion resulted in 38 casualties, 31 of whom were confirmed dead, while the other seven, including one person in critical condition, are currently receiving treatment.
