The death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the intense and continuous Israeli bombing since October 7 has risen to 4,385, according to what the Hamas Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said in a brief statement that 70 percent of the victims were children, women and the elderly.
The ministry added that among the dead were 1,756 children and 967 women… in addition to 13,561 wounded.
Earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip announced that at least 17 of its employees had been killed since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas.
Its Commissioner General, Philippe Lazzarini, stated on Saturday that some employees were “killed in their homes while sleeping with their families.”
On October 7, the Palestinian Hamas movement launched an attack on Israeli areas and towns around the Gaza Strip, killing regarding 1,400 people, most of them civilians, in addition to kidnapping regarding 200 hostages and transporting them to Gaza.
In response, Israel launches continuous raids on the besieged Palestinian Strip, and mobilizes thousands of soldiers in preparation for a large-scale ground attack.
