Hiding in a container to play hide and seek, the boy was sent to another country

The boy was at sea for six days and was taken to another country, following hiding in a container while playing with friends.

A Bangladeshi boy was lucky to survive following being locked inside a container for 6 days and being put on a cargo ship to another country. The reason was that the boy had previously played hide and seek and hid in a container, then unfortunately fell asleep.

On January 17, while unloading containers from a Bangladeshi vessel, staff at the Malaysian port of Klang were shocked to see a boy with a haggard and confused face step out of a container. .

The boy did not speak a local accent, so the port staff did not know anything regarding the “stranger”. They suspected the boy was a victim of a human trafficking organization, so they immediately called the police. However, the truth surprised everyone.

According to Oddity Central, while playing hide-and-seek with friends in his hometown of Chittagong, Bangladesh, the boy chose a container as a hiding place. Unfortunately, the boy was locked inside the crate and spent 6 days at sea to Malaysia.

Photos and videos recorded by workers at Port Klang show that the boy was very confused when looking at his surroundings following stepping out of the container. Medical staff arrived at the scene to take the boy to the hospital for a check-up.

Speaking to Malaysian investigators, the boy named “Fahim” said he fell asleep in the container while hiding from friends, and then found himself locked inside. Although he cried and cried for help, no one heard the boy’s voice to come and save him. As a result, the boy had to stay inside the container for 6 days, and made the journey lasting more than 3,200 km to the Malaysian port of Klang.

During the days he was trapped, the boy did not have anything to eat and drink, so he was exhausted. But fortunately following being taken to the hospital, the boy’s condition was stable and soon fully recovered. Malaysian authorities confirmed they had no doubts regarding the boy’s claims, and there was no indication it was a case of human trafficking. The Malaysian side has implemented procedures to bring Fahim back to his homeland of Bangladesh.

The Bangladeshi boy is considered a lucky case, because cargo ships can stay at sea for weeks and even months. Had he been in this situation and had no water or food, the boy might have lost his life.
