Studio Kojima Productions changes location following five years of work in the office in Tokyo, where it was made Death Stranding.
In a tweet, the head of the studio Hideo Kodzima said goodbye with the old place of work and shared photos from the move.
Today is the day we say goodbye to the entrance, Ludens hallway and kitchen that have been our home for just over five years.”
As is usually the case with Kojima’s social media comments, his tweet raised more questions than it answered.
In October 2020, Kojima Productions stated that it was staffing for a new, as yet unannounced, project. Perhaps the studio is moving to a larger office or just a new office that will better meet development requirements..
Kojima founded Kojima Productions in 2005 under the control of the company Konamiin which he worked for over 30 years and created a series Metal Gear. After splitting from Konami in 2015, the studio gained independence and was reformed with the support of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Death Stranding, released in 2019 on PS4, was the first game to be updated by Kojima Productions. Subsequently, the project received a port for PC and a re-release for the PlayStation 5.
Last November, Kojima Productions announced regarding the creation of a new office in Los Angeles, focused on work in the field of music, television and film. Later in January, Kojima told regarding plans for the current year, where he mentioned the goals to reach a new level of experiments, launch a video department and start making a radio project. In February, the developer launched own podcast.
Now Kojima Productions is preparing its first anime and two games: a small project with an unusual concept and a new AAA title.
