On Twitter, Hideo Kojima has just celebrated a sad anniversary: that of his late horror game PT. Released in 2014, this demo had turned over more than one player thanks to its immersive atmosphere and its well-felt jumpscares.

Eight years and a sad cancellation

It was through a tweet that Japanese creator Hideo Kojima celebrated the eighth anniversary of his abandoned project PT. Made when the Japanese was still employed by Konami, the work took on the outlines of a survival/horror game (in survival horror jargon) in which the player was immersed in the heart of a haunted house. In the past, the publisher Konami has distinguished itself with the Silent Hill franchise and for many fans, PT (which was to be called Silent Hills) had all the assets to become an effective alternative license. Between morbid puzzles and adrenaline rushes, the title promised and the demo foreshadowed a very gripping and scary adventure.

A project in collaboration with a film star

Originally, PT was to be made in collaboration with Guillermo del Toro. Indeed, the Japanese game designer and the Hollywood director are very close. Norman Reedus, another great friend of Kojima, was to be part of the project and take on the features of the main hero. Unfortunately for us, Hideo Kojima found himself in turmoil with the management of Konami. Totally out of step between his desires and those of his company, he experienced a very chaotic end of development for Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain and PT was simply abandoned by the Japanese publisher. This demo has even disappeared from the PlayStation Store, which means those who have kept it have a very valuable item. PT being a thing of the past, Silent Hill fans are now clinging to a few rumors, such as a possible remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team.
