Hideo Kojima completely rewrote Death Stranding 2 after the COVID-19 pandemic

Hideo Kojima told how the production Death Stranding 2 impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It turns out that the game designer completely rewrote the game script following it. The original version of the plot was created before 2020, but then the master decided to completely rework it.

I had a story written before the pandemic, but following I lived through it, I rewrote everything from scratch. I also didn’t want to predict the future anymore, so I rewrote the script.

Kojima “predicted” the future more than once in his games. The Japanese game designer reads a lot and then translates his thoughts into a video game format. For example, Metal Gear Solid 2 brought up the topic of how misinformation quickly spreads online, and Death Stranding predicted that couriers will be the heroes of the pandemic, and the theme of loneliness is clearly visible in the title.

Hideo also noted that in the first trailer Death Stranding 2 many details of the future game are depicted, and he would like the players to make out each frame.

Death Stranding 2 Coming out someday on PS5.
