I say this a lot,especially to my friends,it did not feel like the Olympics.” It wasn’t until she returned home that the magnitude of her achievement truly sunk in. “I’d say about a month after the Olympics, that’s when it really hit,” she explained. “I was looking back at old photos and stuff, and I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy. That’s actually insane that I was at the Olympics…. I’m an Olympic gold medallist.’ That’s crazy because I have always dreamed of that since I was like 7 or 8 years old.”
