Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah vowed Thursday to make Israel’s actions “a living hell” after the group suffered a major blow when a communications device was blown up earlier this week in Lebanon.

Nasrallah made the remarks during a televised speech to discuss the blast that killed 37 people and injured thousands.

“We admit that we have received a fair blow because we recognize the superiority of Israeli technology supported by the US, NATO and the West,” Nasrallah said. “The Israeli enemy tried to kill 5,000 people in just two minutes, without caring about anything.”

“The number of pagers used by Hezbollah members is 4,000, which implies that Israel deliberately tried to kill 4,000 people,” he said.

“The explosion will be met with a punishment that is commensurate with the severity of the consequences, and we will determine the time, place and nature of it,” Nasrallah said.

He warned Israel that if it built a security belt on Lebanese territory, “The country will turn into a trap and hell.”

Nasrallah continued that several investigative commissions have been formed to examine the circumstances of the explosion and they have reached almost certain conclusions. However, the Lebanese resistance group is still waiting for confirmation.

He noted that the severity of eye injuries caused by the explosions has caused significant difficulties for hospitals in Lebanon. Nasrallah further pointed out that many of the explosions took place in hospitals, markets, public roads and homes – areas mostly inhabited by civilians, including children and women. (Ant/Z-2)
