Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah considered on Wednesday that the Israeli army was “exhausted,” stressing that the months-long exchange of bombing between its fighters in southern Lebanon and the Israeli army prevented the Hebrew state from waging a war on Lebanon.

Nasrallah said in a speech he delivered via a screen in front of a crowd of his supporters, “The Israeli army is exhausted, from the northern (Lebanese) front, the West Bank and Gaza,” indicating that Israel does not have sufficient numbers of soldiers to wage a war on Lebanon.

Nasrallah accused Israel of imposing “strict secrecy on Israeli material and human losses” on its northern border.

Since the start of the escalation, the Israeli army announced that ten of its soldiers and seven civilians were killed by fire originating in Lebanon, while at least 322 people were killed in Lebanon, including 219 Hezbollah fighters and 56 civilians, according to a tally prepared by Agence France-Presse based on party statements and official Lebanese sources.

The current escalation between Hezbollah and Israel has led to the displacement of tens of thousands of residents in the border areas on both sides.

Nasrallah continued, “Whoever wants to evaluate what the resistance is doing on the Lebanese front must see that the resistance deters the enemy from going to war once morest Lebanon.”

The words of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah came following Israeli air strikes targeted areas deep in southern and eastern Lebanon, causing deaths and injuries, which increased fears of an expansion of the scope of the escalation that Lebanon has witnessed with Israel since the start of the war on Gaza.

Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged cross-border bombing on an almost daily basis since October 8, that is, the day following the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, Israeli aircraft carried out raids on the Baalbek area in eastern Lebanon, regarding 100 kilometers from the Israeli-Lebanese border, leaving two Hezbollah members dead.

Hezbollah later announced that it had bombed an Israeli military base with dozens of missiles.

Hezbollah repeatedly says that stopping its attacks once morest Israel is linked to reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant recently stressed that any truce in Gaza will not deviate Israel from its goal of removing Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, warning that if Unable to find a diplomatic solution to the situation, “we will do it by force.”
