The leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, Hasan Nasrallah, is alive and “doing well,” Reuters and AFP reported from sources close to this group. On Friday, Israel carried out an attack on Beirut, the target of which, according to Israeli media, was Nasrallah.

The media estimate that it was the largest attack on the city during the current conflict.

Lebanese civil defense reported that the bodies of two victims were recovered from the rubble. According to Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television, at least one person was killed and approximately 50 were injured.

An entire quarter of buildings was damaged in the attack, six to nine residential buildings were completely or partially destroyed, Al-Jazeera reported. The station added that numerous rescue teams were dispatched to the site of the explosion.

The AP agency reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu interrupted his visit to the US and would return to the country immediately.
