THE Lebanese Hezbollah GROUP, Thursday (17/10), said its fighters succeeded in destroying two Israeli Merkava tanks and killing two Zionist soldiers in the Labbouneh Plateau, southern Lebanon.
According to a separate statement, Hezbollah fighters used two guided missiles to target the two tanks on the Labbouneh Plateau. As a result of the attack, the tanks caught fire and killed or injured the soldiers inside.
The Israeli military has not yet responded to Hezbollah’s statement.

Late Wednesday, Hezbollah also said it killed and wounded Israeli soldiers in direct fighting near a neighborhood in the town of Qaouzah in southern Lebanon.
Since Israel began its ground offensive in southern Lebanon in early October, Hezbollah has repeatedly stated that it will attack, fight back and kill Israeli soldiers who carry out the invasion.
Israel has launched massive air strikes in Lebanon under the pretext of targeting Hezbollah since September 23. However, the attack killed more than 1,500 civilians and displaced more than a million people.
The airstrikes are an escalation of the year-long cross-border war between Israel and Hezbollah since the start of its offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Even though the international community warns that the Middle East is on the verge of regional war amid Israel’s military offensive against Gaza and Lebanon. However, Israel continued to expand the conflict by launching an attack on southern Lebanon on October 1. (Ant/Z-2)
