A 24-year-old young man died of cold in the north of France while returning from an evening with friends.
According to the daily La Voix du Nord, he left Boulogne-sur-Mer to return home to Desvres, a town regarding 18 kilometers away.
After a few kilometers, he would have called a friend to ask him to pick him up by car.
They would have met near a bus stop in the town of Baincthun.
The friend in question showed up for the meeting but never found his friend.
The emergency services are then alerted to find the lost walker as soon as possible, because the outside temperature is around zero degrees Celcius.
Several dog brigades are mobilized as well as firefighters and gendarmerie teams.
The gendarmes locate the missing cell phone in a particular area and use a drone equipped with a thermal camera to locate it.
The body of the young man was finally found around 4:45 p.m. in a wooded area a few streets from the meeting place.
The man would not have survived the hours spent in the cold according to the investigators.
