Hervé Renard comments on reports linking him to the Belgium national team.. Will he leave the “green”?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Hervé Renard, coach of the Saudi national team, denied press reports linking him to the Belgium national team, to lead the latter to succeed Spain’s Roberto Martinez.

And it was reported, earlier, that the French coach presented his resume to the Belgian Football Association in order to take over the technical task of the “Red Devils” team.

The Al-Akhdar coach said on his Twitter account: “The news that I made an offer to coach the Belgian national team is completely wrong.”

Renard has a contract with the Saudi national team until 2027, and until following the end of the 2026 World Cup.

Hervé Renard led Al-Akhdar to a historic victory over world champions Argentina in the group stage of the Qatar World Cup, but the team failed to reach the second round.

The Belgium national team dispensed with its coach, Roberto Martinez, following the team’s disappointing performance in the last World Cup, as the team exited early, following falling to third place in the group ranking table, behind Morocco and Croatia.

The Belgian Federation is still looking for a new coach for the national team, and Frenchman Thierry Henry is the most prominent candidate for this position.
