If you have holiday vouchers for 2021, we explain how to avoid losing your money.

In France, holiday vouchers distributed to employees are valid for two years. After this time, these are therefore no longer usable.

Holiday vouchers distributed to as many people as possible

Holiday vouchers are payment vouchers, taking the form of physical denominations of 10, 20, 25 or 50 €. These are also available in the form of e-cheques, only usable on the internet, for an amount of 60 €.

These are therefore valid two years from their date of issue. For example, a check issued in 2020 is valid until 31/12/2022). You can also exchange them at the end of their validity within three months.

Indeed, since January 15, 2021, the holders of these checks can carry out their exchange requests, as well as declarations of losses and thefts directly on the website of the National Agency for Holiday Checks (ANCV). But then what are the uses?

Checks can be used throughout the year, with 200,000 tourism and leisure professionals. Whether it’s a hotel, resorts, campsites, restaurants, trains, planes, their usefulness is endless.

In France, checks are used for travel within the European Union (EU). These registered securities can be used by their beneficiaries directly, but also by their spouses, partners or PACS partners.

Who can benefit ?

The National Agency for Holiday Checks (ANCV) is a public institution which was created in 1982. Its main mission is therefore to promote the departure on vacation of the greatest number.

You should know that all companies, whatever their size, can therefore offer holiday vouchers to all of their employees, whether on permanent or fixed-term contracts. It is in no way an obligation.

Indeed, employers can therefore decide whether or not to give holiday vouchers to employees. Holiday vouchers must be paid “partly by the employer and partly by the employee” specifies the site of ANCV.

The directors or managers of a company with less than 50 employees can therefore themselves benefit from these titles, as well as self-employed workers. The contribution of the employer can be made by direct participation in financing or by a subsidy to the social and economic committee (CSE) for the acquisition of securities.

Thus, in companies with more than 50 employees, the CSE in place can support all the amount of holiday vouchers. And this, without any financing from the company.
