The dating application carried out a study to understand what the expectations of users were. Here’s what comes out of it.
Summer is in full swing, it’s the perfect opportunity for meetings. And Tinder users might well take the opportunity to do a little update of their bio, just to match (finally) with a partner.
Precisely, the application carried out a study among its community to know the expectations in terms of profile, presented as “the ultimate recipe”.
First indication: be short and effective in your bio, which must contain between 15 and 45 words (between 5 and 6 lines). It is therefore necessary to avoid messages that are too hasty and give more details to arouse a little more interest.
“51% of young singles are more likely to consider a dating profile when the person has given insight into their personality,” Tinder explains.
And be careful with the spelling: it’s a love-killer for 30% of those questioned. Also make the effort to build sentences because a third of respondents are discouraged by bios in the form of a shopping list.
Update
Also be original. It’s a boat advice but this criterion is acclaimed by the singles of the study. Don’t hesitate to mention your areas of interest, it’s a good way to start the discussion.
Please note that Tinder now automatically removes social media IDs from bios.
Last advice: evolve your bio, update it regularly with new information regarding you.
On the photo side, do not (obviously) make the mistake of displaying your ex on your profile: it is a “red flag” for 51% of those questioned. Similarly, a third of respondents point to retouched photos as a practice to be banned.
Use 4-5 photos, advises Tinder. And take care of your style: “more than 40% of young single people would be more likely to meet someone with good dress sense in their profile photos.” Finally, Tinder assures it: verifying your photo “gives an additional 10% chance of meeting someone.”
