Here is who Paul Magnette would have voted for in the first round of the French presidential election: “He is not a communist”

Unsurprisingly, Paul Magnette said he was relieved that Emmanuel Macron had been re-elected for a second term. In fact, for the mayor of Charleroi, the victory of Marine Le Pen would have been a tragedy. However, he does not carry Emmanuel Macron in his heart. “The president of the rich, who aggravated the social fractures in France and who was often very contemptuous and arrogant vis-à-vis the population”he explained this morning at the microphone of Bel-RTL.

Thus, Paul Magnette revealed that during the first round he would have voted “at the last minute” for Jean-Luc Mélenchon. He explained that the PS had several similarities with the “France insoumise” party, particularly in terms of ecology and from a social point of view. Finally, Paul Magnette made a point of stressing that it was not fashionable to compare the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon with the PTB in Belgium because “he is not a communist”. Remember, however, that the former French minister has appeared more than once alongside Raoul Hedebouw, the president of the PTB.
