Pictures from the movie Arlettedirected by Mariloup Wolfe and starring Maripier Morin, have finally been unveiled in a first trailer, posted online this Friday.

The film caused a lot of reaction when it was revealed in the summer of 2021 that Maripier Morin would play the main role, following the allegations that were made once morest him. Director Mariloup Wolfe defended herself by indicating that the actress, host and now mother had presented herself for an audition and that her performance had been remarkable. The work on herself was also very much in line with the role.
The synopsis ofArlette:
Approached by the Premier of Quebec to rejuvenate the image of his government, Arlette Saint-Amour becomes, overnight, Minister of Culture. She succeeds by her look and her audacity to create a real buzz around Culture. Reckless, she does not hesitate to confront the most powerful of all: the Minister of Finance. Their files are battles to fight, but their confrontation is a real war without thank you, because in the end, this film revolves around a major theme: the power of the image. Arlette takes us behind the scenes of the National Assembly, where the wacky rubs shoulders with the serious, where comedy embraces drama.

The film, shot mostly in Quebec, features a cast of award-winning actors. Maripier Morin, Paul Ahmarani, Gilbert Sicotte, Benoît Brière, David La Haye, Kathleen Fortin, Emmanuel Schwartz, Micheline Lanctôt, Alexandre Nachi, Sandrine Bisson, Claudia Ferri, Pierre Verville, Gaston Lepage and even Lara Fabian make appearances there.
Arlette is produced by Valérie d’Auteuil and André Rouleau, and is written by Marie Vien.
The production will be released on August 5.
