Last October, a pilot project was launched and will soon be completed: the speed cameras will now flash from a speed of 129km/h, which means that the tolerance margin will no longer exist.
Its aim was to see if the police and the public prosecutor were able to manage the greater number of cases if no margin of tolerance or quota were applied. This is what the office of the Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne indicates in the columns of the “Zondag”.
Four radars to adjust
This was already a reality in Flanders, but it will expand by the end of August to the whole country. Four last sections radars must be adjusted, because some of them flashed only from 140km/h. All this should improve road safety and, of course, bring money into the coffers.
