As summer temperatures are on the horizon, the Service public de Wallonie has just unveiled the list of 25 official open-air bathing sites that will be open to the public this summer 2022.
Its 2022 bathing season will last 4.5 months and will run from May 15 to September 30, 2022. The season is therefore twice as long as in 2020. The majority of river sites will be open from May 15, 2022 .
On certain bodies of water where supervision by lifeguards (licensed lifeguards) is required for safety reasons by the Mayor or the site manager, the duration of the season will be shorter and will generally start in mid- June or at the end of June 2022 (see table below), warns the SPW.
As a reminder, these official sites are subject to regular quality controls by the Public Service of Wallonia and the ISSeP, throughout the bathing season. The quality of bathing water has already been checked at the beginning of May and will continue to be analyzed every week or every 15 days, depending on the site.
