Japanese start-up Shimizu has created a foldable electric scooter no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper to realize the dreams of walkers looking for practical urban mobility solutions. Moreover, this 5 kg model offers a range of 15 km.
For short trips, the electric scooter is more practical than finding a place to park your car. You still have to find a way to store it once you arrive at your destination. Thanks to the Arma electric scooter, you will no longer have to worry regarding this problem and your dreams will come true. Its size similar to that of an A4 sheet makes this foldable electric scooter easy to store: just slip it into your backpack or laptop bag.
Foldable, this electric scooter is the size of a sheet of A4 paper
Japanese mobility company Shimizu has set a new standard for urban travel with the launch of the Arma electric scooter. This new innovative product presents itself as the most smallest and lightest foldable E-Scooter in the world. The Arma weighs 4,5 kg and promises unparalleled convenience for city dwellers. This solution will therefore suit even those of us for whom bodybuilding is a foreign concept. As for the maximum payload, it can reach 100 kg, making it the surprising weightlifting champion of two-wheeled electric solutions.
Furthermore, the Arma is characterized by unique folding design with multiple joints. These allow this electric scooter to fold to the dimensions of a sheet of A4 paper in less than 30 seconds. Additionally, its footrests fold over the rear wheel. As for the handlebars, it folds on itself until the whole constitutes a compact unit that can be transported via its integrated handle.
“Say goodbye to tedious commutes and hello to a smooth transition,” says Shimizu, inviting us to “discover a new freedom.”
The ideal solution for the first and last mile
In addition to its size equivalent to that of a sheet of A4 paper, this foldable electric scooter has another remarkable characteristic: its battery. Removable, users can quickly replace with a fully charged onewhich increases the range of micromobility and eliminates the dreaded range anxiety.”
Moreover, regarding autonomy, the Arma can travel up to 15 km in a single charge. However, it should be noted that it was designed not for those who want to take a long Sunday followingnoon ride, but rather as a last mile solution.
The battery powers a 250 W motor capable of propelling the Escooter to a maximum speed of 24 km/h.
Note also that Arma is now at the final prototype stage. The project aims to to collect funds through a crowdfunding campaign in order to move to the production phase. The crowdfunding campaign, if it proves successful, will make it possible to launch 300 mini electric scooters of this type throughout the world.
