Youssef Chahine
From next Monday, February 21 until Thursday, February 24, the activities of the 12th edition of the Youssef Chahine Festival for Narrative and Short Films will be headed by Director of Photography Tariq Al-Telmisani. The directors are Mohsen Ahmed, Mohamed Hamdy, and the critic Prince Abaza.
Director Mostafa Wafik had announced the participation of his short fiction film “We Praise Him”, within the activities of the 12th edition of Youssef Chahine Festival for Short Narrative and Documentary Films, to be held under the slogan “Songs Are Possible.”
Director Mustafa Wafik said that the film “We Praise Him” has recently won participation in many international film festivals, the most prominent of which was the Wasit International Film Festival for Short Films in Iraq. The seventh in Gaza, as well as the International Electronic Festival for Short Films in Syria. He also participated in the Attempt Films Festival at the Cinema Palace in Cairo, and received a certificate of honor in the Short Film Competition at the Catholic Center for Cinema.
The film discusses the psychological crises that occur to people following they lose important things or suffer traumas in their lives, and the film calls for the necessity of not being attached to the painful experiences of the past and focusing on the future that carries hope.
