Here is the amount of the “special allowance” that Jean-Claude Marcourt will receive despite his resignation as President of the Walloon Parliament

According to Sudinfo, despite his resignation, he should however receive a “special allowance” as provided for in the regulations of the Walloon administration. Jean-Claude Marcourt will thus receive €16,846 in addition to the allowance normally granted when he leaves his post as an MP.

He still earns €9,000 a month: parting with clerk Frédéric Janssens might cost hundreds of thousands of euros!

This amount is calculated on the duration spent at the head of the Belgian administration. Jean-Claude Marcourt having been president of the Walloon parliament since September 13, 2019, he will be entitled to 8 months of special allowance according to the calculations of Sudinfo: 2 months per 12 months of office of president as well as 2 months of special allowance for twelve months started.
