here is how much a house in your municipality costs on average

Anyone interested (citizen, policy makers, buyers, sellers…) can now quickly get an idea of the evolution of the most recent average sale prices of houses and apartments in Belgium, at regional level and down to municipal level . the online barometer of notaries also gives the evolution of these prices over the last 5 years and it allows a comparison of prices between municipalities.

Unique data in Belgium

The data feeding the Real Estate Barometer is collected electronically when the sales agreement is signed and is supplemented by the data from the deed. In addition to the average sale prices, the Barometer also contains a confidence indicator giving the degree of accuracy of the prices of houses and apartments sold. This indicator studies the representativeness of these prices vis-à-vis the size of the residential real estate market in the municipality. In other words, the municipalities where the degree of precision is deemed too low do not appear on the map.

« This set of data is unique in Belgium and allows a better understanding of the real estate market, its evolution and serves as a basis for estimating the value of real estate. The digital version of the Barometer is still in its infancy. Other data will soon be made available to the user, such as median prices, which provide a better indication of market trends. says Renaud Grégoire, notary spokesperson for Notaire.be.
