Through its Rockrider brand, Decathlon is launching a brand new jacket dedicated to cyclists wishing to stay warm during their mountain bike outings in the coming months.
Decathlon is constantly renewing its catalog of equipment for muscle bikes and electric bikes. We recently told you regarding a very practical rain jacket to increase your visibility, an inexpensive saddle bag, a designer and waterproof parka as well as a new colorful city bell. In short, there is something for all needs.
This time, the French brand is targeting mountain bike users by launching its “EXPL 500 mountain bike winter jacket”. Decathlon specifies the ideal temperature range at which this garment is used: between 5 and 15 degrees, which corresponds to both autumn and a relatively mild winter.
Three practical pockets
Weighing 560 grams in size L, this jacket benefits from a fabric resistant to snags and abrasion, so as not to be damaged in the forest in particular. Against the rain, a water-repellent coating has been added, as well as a rear bib to protect your bottom from potential splashes. Important clarification: waterproofing is not on the menu.

To increase its level of practicality, three pockets are available: a zipped, water-repellent pocket available at chest level to hold your smartphone, for example; another in the back, right side, also zipped; and a last one on the left side, wider, to accommodate your papers or even your keys.
Neck warmer and windproof membrane
Note that the neck warmer, useful for protecting you from the cold or the wind, is removable if it bothers you or if you are too hot. Finally, note that a windproof membrane has been added in two areas, at the chest and arms. In any case, Decathlon estimates that this jacket is effective for an outing of up to 4 hours.
