Faso holds firm and remains standing despite adversity! Its capital, Ouagadougou and its surroundings are changing day after day. And despite the difficult security situation, the sons and daughters of Burkina Faso are showing resilience and investing in the development of the country. Although the situation is not rosy, they remain determined and believe in a better tomorrow. This is the case in Garghin, once a slum where the capital Ouagadougou now extends. Indeed, this village of the rural commune of Komsilga has now become like a suburb of Ouagadougou. Two-storey houses, mini-power supplies, gas stations, hardware stores and relaxation areas like “La Rose de Canaan” are sprouting up every day and make Garghin a destination not to be missed: Discovery!

In Burkina Faso, this month of April is considered a Holy month because Christians celebrate Easter and Muslims celebrate Eid El Fitr, commonly known as Ramadan. April is also known as the much warmer month in the Land of Upright Men.

After a first missed appointment with the manager of the “La Rose de Canaan” space, which was set for 4 p.m. when the sun gradually returned to its bed, the second was at 2 p.m., the sun was still shining brightly.

We have no choice but to brave this strong heat to go to Garghin at the southern exit of the Burkinabè capital. We will take about 30 minutes to arrive at our destination.

It is so hot. As soon as we arrive, we rush to find shade to shelter us. After having inquired, Serge Pascal Sama, the person in charge of the space is seated under a straw hut and awaits us. It is a peaceful corner, an ideal place to take your mind off things. A dozen huts are built here and there. In the middle of the concession is positioned a swimming pool whose construction is not yet completed.

Once in the hut after having recognized Mr. Sama, he brings us a good glass of water as is customary in the African community in general, in order to quench our thirst. We have the body that was languishing. It’s not simple ! But clean, fresh air cradles us and dampens our heat a bit.

A few minutes later after quenching our thirst, we open the page of exchanges with our interlocutor, Mr. Sama, a man of black complexion and a little slender. In the meantime, a gentle wind and the smell of planted eucalyptus leaves make us friends and cuddle us.

Why choose Garghin to house this space? The person in charge of the exploitation of the space “La Rose de Canaan” underlines bluntly, that the “new Ouaga” is now being built in the peripheral zones in particular in Garghin, Nioko, Saaba, Kamboinssin.

According to him, it is the generation of young people born between 1985 and 1995 who will build the Burkina of tomorrow. He adds that most of these young people are in the peripheral areas mentioned above. ” This is the heart of Ouaga (outlying areas, nldr). This is the new Ouaga. And if you notice, these are areas that are in the middle of a construction site at the moment. Today we must invest in these areas. And I really invite all young entrepreneurs to invest there because they are areas of the future “, he argues.
