It was with some astonishment that it was discovered that Sons of the Forest now had a hang glider. If only we had read correctly the patch note of which we made a bulk a few days ago… We therefore tested the beast, out of curiosity, and we must admit that it is rather nice. It’s even borderline a little abused, since you really don’t fall quickly. It seems possible to travel truly enormous distances. On the other hand, once you have landed, you obviously cannot put it in your bag. It will be necessary to walk with it, at the risk of passing for an acorn by getting stuck in the trees at each passage that is a little too narrow. If you want to know where to find a hang glider, our colleagues from Eurogamer have done a complete guide.
Alright, while we’re at it, we’re also going to tell you a bit more regarding the other additions to the patch. So there are binoculars, but they all seem silly for the moment, since it’s like a digital zoom on what we already see, the vegetation doesn’t appear. We now have the possibility to place portals on the defensive walls, and to lock the normal doors using sticks. Two mini-bosses have been added, as well as several narrative elements. Finally, among a thousand other things, the fish traps finally work, but Kelvin will stop bringing them following three to compensate.
If you want to see the very long list of additions, changes and bug fixes, head over to the dedicated Steam page. Note that the next update is scheduled for March 24, as indicated by the timer in the game menu.
Sons of the Forest is, in our opinion, already fun for many. If you are interested, it is available at Steam at the price of 29 €.
