here are the settings you need to change right now!

WhatsApp is constantly updating its privacy settings to make it safer to use its application. And 2022 is no exception. So here are three settings that you can change right now!

Lock the application

The first is regarding locking your app. Basically, people who use your smartphone will not have access to your WhatsApp messages. To do this, simply go to the “Confidentiality” settings from your “Account”. You can then activate the famous “Screen Lock” with your Touch ID or Face ID.

Be careful, we are talking here regarding locking the application on the home page of your smartphone. If a notification appears, it will still be possible to read and respond to it quickly, without having to unlock it.

Ephemeral messages

We were already telling you regarding it a few weeks ago. WhatsApp recently added a feature to auto-destroy messages automatically. Find our article on this subject HERE.

While it was possible to make messages ephemeral for 7 days, it is now possible to do so for a period of 24 hours or 90 days. However, you are never safe from a screenshot of your correspondent.

Two-step verification

Finally, a last parameter concerning confidentiality can be modified as of today. This is the two-step verification. It will add a new identification to verify your phone number and therefore protect you from malicious people wishing to steal your personal data.

To do this, it’s once more very simple: go to the “Confidentiality” settings and activate the functionality.

This is what will make your daily use of WhatsApp safer!
