Turnout in the first round of the presidential election on Sunday stood at 65% exactly at 5:00 p.m., down 4.4 points compared to 2017 (69.42%), according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior.
However, this turnout was 6.5 points higher than in 2002 (58.45%), a record year for abstention in the first round of presidential elections.
As a reminder, no poll, result or estimate can be published in France this Sunday before 8 p.m. However, this rule does not apply to foreign media, including Belgium.
