At its Wonderlust event on Tuesday, Apple revealed the latest iPhone series as well as updates to the Apple Watch. L’iPhone 15 vs the iPhone 15 Pro now face each other. And these latest generation smartphones pack a punch.
On last year’s models, the new dynamic island was the main element that differentiated the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. However, this functionality has now been integrated into the iPhone 15. As for its Pro version, here is what it is.
The iPhone 15 screen vs. 15 Pro
The standard iPhone 15 and its Pro version are both have a screen of the same size. This is a screen 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR displaying a resolution of 2 556 x 1 179 pixels.
Except that the Pro screen is however equipped with the technology ProMotion. Son Variable refresh rate is between 10 and 120 Hz. Which means that the image is significantly smoother compared to the standard iPhone 15 which has a refresh rate of 60 Hz. When the user watches videos, plays games or scrolls web pages there is no latency. And if you’re not watching YouTube or playing a game, iPhone 15 Pro reduces its refresh rate to preserve battery life. Then, the iPhone 15 Pro has an “always on” mode screen, not the iPhone 15.
The cases of these two models
Otherwise, the iPhone 15 vs the iPhone 15 Pro have some differences in housing. The one of the standard iPhone 15 is made of aluminum and its back is made of colored glass. While that of the iPhone 15 Pro is made of titanium and it features a textured matte glass back.
Among these two smartphones l’iPhone 15 is therefore slightly larger more lighter (171 g) than the iPhone 15 Pro (187 g). Then, one last difference between the two boxes is the introduction of the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro. It replaces the mute button that is still on the side of the iPhone 15.
A notable difference between the iPhone 15 camera vs. 15 Pro
To follow, as with previous ranges of Apple smartphones, l’iPhone 15 is equipped with two lenses on the back to take photos or videos. Gold, the iPhone 15 Pro has three. But, apart from that, the technology that powers these cameras is the same.
Both cameras respectively have a 48 megapixel wide lens and one 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. And the third telephoto lens of 12 megapixels from the iPhone 15 Pro is equipped with a 3x optical zoom which allows you to get closer to your subject. Then, both models support night mode, but only the iPhone 15 Pro allows you to take night mode photos in portrait mode.
Some specifics regarding USB-C speeds
Finally, the two new models of Apple smartphones introduce USB-C charging. A cable USB-C 2 providing a 480 Mbps charging speed is delivered free of charge. And this, if the buyer takes one or the other of the two models. But the customer must obtain a USB-C 3 cable for the iPhone 15 Pro themselves. This, if he wants to benefit from ultra-fast charging of 10 Gbps.
