Here are the 6 foods that contain more vitamin C than oranges

Often vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is associated with orange. But if this citrus brings a significant dose to our body (47.5 mg per 100 g), other fruits and vegetables contain more. Here are six to prioritize in our diet.

guava

Exotic fruit which is sometimes rare on the stalls of our French markets, guava contains for 100 g more than 220 mg of vitamin C. Low in sugar, but rich in fiber, it can be consumed in the form of juice, and we will help boost our body and strengthen our immune defenses.

Provided with minerals and vitamin A, the red pepper that can be added preferably raw in its salads, contains three times more vitamin C than the orange, that is to say 121 mg per 100 g. We also do not hesitate to buy yellow and green peppers which remain well classified among the foods richest in ascorbic acid.

Due to its high nutrient content, this red fruit is considered a “superfood”. Per 100 g of berries consumed, the intake of vitamin C is 180 mg. It can therefore be eaten fresh or with cereals or yogurt for breakfast.

We do not skimp on this herbaceous plant when we go to the kitchen. Especially when the ANSES (National Agency for Food Safety) reveals that it contains 177 mg per 100 g.

And the kiwi

With more than 90 mg per 100 g, this fruit is certainly small in size, but capital when it comes to its vitamin C content. When fatigue is felt, especially in this winter season, we rush to the kiwi, which is also recommended in the event of a slimming diet because it is a low-calorie fruit.

The strawberries

Gariguette, mara des bois, charlotte… All varieties of strawberries are rich in vitamin C. They contain an average of 58.8 mg per 100 g portion. And the good news is that they are very low in calories. They are eaten in salads with a little sugar or in cream pastries.
