Three months following its announcement, the Apple revealed the official date on which iOS 17 will be released: next Monday, September 18. The update, as we know, comes with several new features, but some of them will not be available once the system comes out.
Apple did not explain why it did not make these features available immediately, but it is believed to be due to the lack of time to fix its errors — so, when launched, they might be working perfectly.
Last June, in fact, we had already commented that some iOS 17 functions would not arrive in September. Are they:
Improved AirDrop Diary App (Journal) Collaborative Playlists in Apple Music AirPlay on Hotel TVs
Yesterday, the company listed [PDF] other features that will not arrive next week, and might land in versions 17.1 or 17.2 — already tested internally by Maçã, according to speculation —, which might arrive by the end of the year.
Among the restricted features, for now, are:
React to messages with stickers Use the new arrow that takes you to the first unread text in conversations Other improvements in the Messages app, such as syncing with iCloud Intelligent form detection in PDFs Improved autofill in PDFs
Audio Focus for Fitness+ Proximity authentication using Apple ID Playlist of favorite Apple Music tracks
As mentioned, it is possible that the company is already internally testing versions of iOS 17.1 and 17.2. If the cycle of previous years continues, it is likely that the first update will be released in October and the second in December.
