The parents of Kyriaki Griva, who was murdered on April 1 outside the police station of Aghii Anargyro, are requesting, according to Mega, a representation of what happened on the fateful night, while a lawsuit has also been filed, in order to make the responsibilities of those involved personal.
At the same time in progress is the Sworn Administrative Examination that has been ordered, the results of which are expected within the week. The last person who is expected to submit a statement about what happened on the night of Sunday’s murder is the Immediate Action police officer, who spoke with her and told her that the patrol car was not a taxi.
The station’s police guard, the first to be informed by the 28-year-old that she wanted to report someone she feared, is seen slowly coming out of his post even as Sunday falls dead. “I had no visual image and did not perceive the attack, until the moment I heard voices and saw the woman fall,” he claimed in his memorandum.
It is noted that all six police officers who are being investigated for Sunday’s murder are on sick leave.
The lawsuit filed by Kyriaki’s father
Lawsuit against police officers who didn’t react properly when his daughter called for help, Kyriaki’s father testified.
The lawsuit, which has 13 pages, is entitled “Summary report against all responsible and especially the serving police officers at the Agioi Anargyro police station on 1/4/2024 and from 22:00 until the end of the shift as well as the employee at the call center of Direct Action who talks on 1/4/2024 at 22:15 with my daughter Kyriaki Griva and any other competent police officer or anyone else who may be shown during the preliminary investigation or interrogation”.
In the lawsuit, Kyriaki’s father is quoted as saying, according to the Star: “A police officer is depicted at the moment my daughter comes down from the police station having received indifference and ridicule, going out on the balcony and calling somewhere and having ( the police officer) eye contact with the murder event and after certainty sees it from the balcony of the Police Station, but does not react in time. Apparently for the police officer her private conversations were more important that night than her duty.”
He continues: “Within five minutes they ‘got rid’ of my daughter and referred her to call Immediate Action to send a patrol car regardless of her fate and while they knew she was under threat.
They literally leave her unprotected to her killer while they are obliged by their profession to protect her. If my daughter didn’t want to file a complaint or wasn’t afraid, then what is the reason for her to go to the authorities, especially at night?”
