Risk group
- Has a history of blood transfusion before 1991 (the year the virus was tested)
- injectable drug users
- tattooist with unclean tools
- chronic renal disease patients treated with dialysis
- HIV patient
how to protect yourself
- Avoid using tattoo equipment. or sharing syringes with others
- Wear gloves if you come into contact with blood.
- Wear condoms if you have multiple sexual partners.
- Yearly physical exam to assess liver function
