  • Has a history of blood transfusion before 1991 (the year the virus was tested)

how to protect yourself

  • Avoid using tattoo equipment. or sharing syringes with others
  • Wear gloves if you come into contact with blood.
  • Wear condoms if you have multiple sexual partners.
  • Yearly physical exam to assess liver function
