Henry Rollins guest as part of his Good To See You-Tour with some delay in the Grazer Orpheum – and tells stories from his life for two and a half hours in an attacking position, practically without a period or comma.

On the Good To See You tour Henry will faithfully recount the events of his life in the brief pre-COVID period since the last tour and when things got even stranger over the last several months.promises the announcement of the new show by Rollins, who has long since renounced music production (Rise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis Three was actually an unbelievable 21 years ago!). However, if you look more closely and in the broadest sense, the evening actually strings together anecdotes that address things that can be taken away from you in a wide variety of ways.

That begins (after an introduction in which Rollins explains his basic positioning to his – “racist and misogynistic‘ – Homeland America and Covid – ‘these fucking mouthbreathers should trust science and get vaccinated!‘ – expounds, i.e. omits about things that both rob him of his source of income from touring and yet also provide material for new monologues) in episodes that ostensibly revolve around how people unload their emotional packets at Rollins (and therefore enigmatically teach, from refrain from making hasty judgments about others) and ends, because Henry has not been able to let go of his anger about what happened to his long-time manager Heidi to this day, by no means with the really superior story (which feels like it lasted longer than the incident itself lasted). seems to have) about a Finnish stalker who stalked EBay shark Rollins (who would rather rob others of rare record dreams than miss his own chance at nostalgia) in his home during the COVID pandemic and subsequently memorabilia and shattered the illusion of safe shelter,

Except for that final episode, which just takes up too much Raul, it’s really surprisingly entertaining to follow this thread (also shocking at times when Rollins remembers the robbery and murder [?] remembered in which a friend was shot dead next to him; or simply priceless, if you can experience first-hand memories of the hardcore legend’s entry as a singer with Black Flag – who stole from him as his first official act).
Incidentally, you can always smile – most visitors to the almost sold out Orpheums often do even more than that, although most of Rollins’ brought up (and clearly conceived as such) gags are relatively overused (such as spanking demonstrations, sex rush self-mockery or “I am so old…“-with a wink in front of an audience that is anything but young).
In fact, the charismatic evening is always amusing, one likes to hang on the lips of the icon, which radiates immense energy and presence, even a little spellbound. (By the way, there are no photos of the guest performance at this point: what Rollins looks like in a black shirt and jeans of the same color, always in a lurking attacking position and with the micro cable wrapped energetically around his left hand, is something we already know from the show. Promotion – only that tomorrow, February 13, 2023, who will be 62 years old, looks a little older and thinner than in the pictures).
In this respect: gladly again soon – and not another 20 years Graz abstinence please.
