In his speech at the work of this session, which took place in the presence of the Algerian ambassador in Moscow and executives from the two countries, Mr. Henni welcomed the “excellent” relations uniting the two countries, estimating that this meeting “is intended to be an opportunity to set a new milestone in the process of bilateral cooperation with a view to establishing coordination and consultation between the two parties on several issues of common interest on the basis of the values of freedom, peace and of justice.”

The minister indicated that this session comes at the end of the bilateral Summit which brought together the Presidents of the two countries, on the occasion of the state visit carried out last June by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune , in the Russian Federation, crowned by the signing of the Declaration of Deep Strategic Partnership between the two countries and the signing of several conventions, memorandums of understanding and action programs between the two Governments.

The minister recalled the previous session of the Algerian-Russian Joint Commission, held in Algeria in September 2022, during which priority areas of cooperation were defined by the two countries.

This essentially involves strengthening agricultural production and yield, particularly in the areas of cereals, seeds and plants, in addition to the protection of plant and veterinary health, plant genetics and breeding.

The previous session also focused on the establishment of direct relations between companies and professional organizations in the sector, the encouragement of exchanges between institutes and university establishments and access to developments made in scientific and technological research.
