Daniel is 68 years old, he is a former butcher and originally from Tournai. Until four months ago, he was living in Valenciennes, in the north of France.
But due to a problem at the pensions department, Daniel never received his nearly 1400 euro pension once more. Without income, he decides to return to live in Tournai hoping to find a solution.
Unfortunately for him, things don’t work out and, worse, he finds that many people are in the same situation.
At 68, the former butcher finds himself living for four months on a bench in Tournai. A situation all the more uncomfortable as he is disabled since an accident and moves with a crutch.
Fortunately, things have changed recently. The CPAS of Tournai says to take things in hand, but the steps take time.
In the meantime, his story has touched Tournaisians on social networks. Daniel was eventually welcomed into a Bon Secours hotel.
