The 38-year-old Syrian patient, Fadia, suffers from hand nerve problems. According to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, the patient needs a hand surgery that costs 39,180 dirhams, and she appeals to someone to help her with the costs of the surgery, as her financial capabilities do not allow her to do so.
The patient tells her story to «Emirates Today», saying: “I was suffering from this problem four years ago following I had my last child, but a few days ago the pain in my hand greatly intensified, so my husband transferred me directly to the emergency department in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, following which I was transferred to specialized clinics and I underwent the necessary examinations and analyzes, as it was found that I suffer from problems in the nerves of both hands.”
She added, “The doctors decided, following the results and examinations, that I need surgery on both hands, at a cost of 39,180 dirhams, and this amount is exorbitant for me, as it prevents me from performing the operation that I need, and I do not know what to do under the circumstances I am going through.”
She indicated that «my husband is the sole breadwinner for my family of five children, and he works in one of the private agencies with a salary of 5,000 dirhams, of which 3,000 dirhams go to furnish housing and the rest goes to life expenses and requirements, knowing that I had previously applied for assistance in charitable associations and institutions, but I have not succeeded in finding any response so far ».
She explained, “The pain is increasing in both hands, and I am currently living on painkillers, and only undergoing the surgery that I need and approved by the doctors can save me, so I appeal to good people and people with kind hearts to help me with the costs of the surgery that will rid me of this pain.”
Fadia: The pain is increasing in my hand, and I live on painkillers, and only undergoing surgery can save me from it.
