The Egyptian musician Helmy Bakr, the former captain of the Musicians’ Syndicate, attacked the Egyptian artist Hani Shaker, as he considered that “at the time he assumed the position of the captain, the union’s conditions worsened even more.”
In press statements, Bakr said: “Hani Shaker was not added to the Musicians’ Syndicate because he did not go to the Syndicate, and the problems are in general.”
Helmy Bakr indicated that the artist, Hani Shaker, “was spent on telephones, and the union became a hotbed for everyone who committed mistakes and transgressions because there was no censorship, and whoever committed mistakes must be held accountable, and whoever covered them up as well,” as he put it.
