Reality TV needs strong characters with a need to be broadcast. Helena Fürst is a top cast that even overshoots the mark. The question often arises as to whether their behavior is still justifiable. There were no two opinions for the makers of “The Big Celebrity Penance”.
Désirée Nick (65) has a sharp tongue, Elena Miras (30) has a fiery temper, Jan Leyk (37) is considered a manipulator, Daniela Büchner (44) is a pain in the ass, but takes the throne of reality stars with the most blatant character the Princess of Darkness – that’s the nickname of Helena Fürst (48). She is currently blowing up “The Big Celebrity Penance” and is fired from the production for it. Sorry, spoiler alert. But at Joyn + you can see the expulsion for days. The Princess will be expelled linearly on July 14 during prime time.
This includes escalations
Is she really the worst reality star in the country? Helena Fürst says she is intentionally misrepresented. That’s why the “round of shame” was shortened in such a way that it seemed completely insane and apparently ticked off for no reason. “The viewers are kept from why it escalated so much between me and the other participants,” she explains in an interview with “t-online”.
New TV scandal: Helena Fürst flies out of the show “The Big Celebrity Penance”
What is strange regarding the princely allegations is that you have previously seen how Helena Fürst deals with her teammates in “Celebrity Penance”. When she eats Gisele Oppermann’s (34) banana, she doesn’t apologize for it, but gets upset regarding the allegations of others. Then she triggers Matthias Mangiapane (38) because she knows she can do it. And her provocations towards Elena Miras only serve to push the Swiss to her limits.
The cut is often to blame
But no matter: While ProSieben claims that the cut was made to protect Helena Fürst, who probably no longer looked good following she had to throw up, the reality star feels powerless in the face of the broadcaster’s superiority. She wants the “most concise” part to be shown. But would that change anything? Her poor social skills, which made her famous, shine through constantly – cut or not.
She was in constant argument mode in the jungle camp in 2016 and drove Thorsten Legat insane. Even then, she claimed that the RTL broadcaster had stylized her as a hate figure and that Sonja Zietlow, with her moderation, had prevented Helena Fürst from entering the final. Nevertheless, the princess confided in RTL once more a year later and moved into the “Summer House of the Stars” with her then boyfriend Ennesto Monté (47).

Summer house following the jungle camp
There was no sign of real love. “I hated him like the plague in there,” she says following the RTL recording – unsurprisingly. But not only Ennesto felt the moods and taunts of the princess in the summer house. Giulia Siegel (47) scolded that she had never met such an asocial person, and Matthias Mangiapane already called Helena the devil here.
If all this is just played, Helena Fürst is the biggest star in the reality industry. With her craft, she carries entire programs alone and might even have been able to help the “Club of Good Moods” to get a good rating. But apparently Helena can’t control herself. The makers will have thought carefully regarding their expulsion, because they also know that their entertainment factor is great.
Ejection as an emergency brake for the format
Most recently, Janina Youssefian (39) was thrown out of the jungle because of racist insults. Candidate Mechito (30) had to leave DSDS this year because he had concealed that he was on probation for serious bodily harm. The expulsion of Eva Herman (63) from the talk show by Johannes B. Kerner (57) is also legendary because she was intolerable with the National Socialist world view – here the other talk guests first threatened to leave before the moderator acted.
Anyway: Does Helena Fürst fit into this series? As far as we have seen the material: no. She’s exhausting and we’re glad to only see her behind the screen, but that’s what makes her so special. She understands the reality TV business and so do the others. Matthias Mangiapane is booked because he gets so excited, Gisele Oppermann convinces with hysteria and tears and Calvin Kleinen turns out to be a sexist – also not correct.

Reality stars need a pulse
If the show The Great Celebrity Penance causes all reality stars to join the woke movement, we’ll tune out. Without stress, trouble, injustice and difficult characters, we can also watch Bible TV. It’s not regarding supporting the most severe bullying, we also think the above-mentioned expulsions are justified, but if Helena Fürst is right, we’d like to see what really happened that night.
She claims that there was a fuss on purpose and it’s true that she got angry – “because I was literally under fire and provoked.” Nerves are on edge in such formats, and that’s certainly intentional. Why else would you lock umpteen celebrities in an enclosure and send them to the common room to sleep. So what happened that Helena Fürst earned the stamp “worst reality star”?
Helena Fürst wants to give up reality TV
Why doesn’t ProSieben simply show how Helena Fürst is confronted with her “sins”? “Because there was nothing bad!” Claims Helena Fürst. “The content of my round of shame was solely that I always tell the truth.” If the ratings fall following the second episode, the broadcaster may consider a turn in the Helena Fürst case.
We can only wait until all other players are allowed to give interviews. Then we painstakingly piece together what the “truth” behind the headlines is. In any case, it would be a shame if Helena Fürst took this threat seriously: “I think I’m through with reality!”
That’s what “The Great Celebrity Penance” is regarding
Who is free from (big) sins? Who is accountable for past sins? From Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 8:15 p.m., Olivia Jones will give eleven celebrities the chance to face their public missteps in the new reality show “Das Große Promi-Büßen” on ProSieben. For this, she confronts the celebrities directly with their biggest faux pas and talks them into their conscience.
